Sol Tides was created in 2025 in Austin, Texas.
Our mission is to cultivate community by bringing people together to prepare for the season ahead. We are creating a space to share our garden abundance, learn new skills, and teach one another in a spirit of mutual support.
We are fostering a greater independence from capitalism and forming a deeper connection to nature through the use of locally sourced resources, and hands-on, historically grounded learning.
Through inspiration, collaboration, and an ongoing, cyclical relationship with the land, we are nurturing resilience, self-sufficiency, and a thriving, interconnected community.

Growing: This changes every year with what looks and produces the best in my garden! Last year was cantaloupes. Time will tell what this year’s fav is.
Making: Calendula salve and throwing a hodgepodge of herbs into a salad.
Eating: Any pork from Belle Vie, the very first tomato of the year sliced over some sourdough bread my husband made, and the world’s best chocolate chip cookie (my dad’s, obviously).
Hobbies: Running with my dogs and my husband.
Inspirational gardeners: My grandma Barb! She taught me the powerful connection between what you grow and what you eat and use in your home. And, my mom, who is a certified Master Naturalist - she taught me the importance of a lifelong conversation with nature.
Album: Jobim by Antônio Carlos Jobim, or I have yet to find a Jazz is Dead album I didn’t like.
Book: A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. I love reading books based outside the U.S.
Favorite way to spend free time: My husband and I are in year 4 of a complete gut and home renovation, so lots and lots of house projects.
What else brings you joy: When people mow around the wildflowers in their yard, being surrounded by water, when people help turtles cross the road, spring runs, and any ounce of time I get with my siblings/sibs-in-laws. They're all pretty cool human beans.
